College Physics
Fourth Edition
by
Jerry Wilson
and
Anthony Buffa
The Wilson/Buffa, College Physics 4/e Companion Web Site provides students with a wealth of innovative activities and exercises for each text chapter. Students can practice problem solving skills, explore and refine their understanding of physics, prepare for the MCAT exam and learn to connect physics to the world around them. All the materials on the Web site are in addition to and not duplicative of material in the text. The materials for each chapter include:
- Practice Questions, links to related sites (Destinations), NetSearch keywords and algorithmically-generated numeric Practice Problems by Carl Adler at East Carolina University;
- "Physlet®" (Java applets for physics) Problems from Wolfgang Christian at Davidson College;
- MCAT practice questions from Glen Terrell at the University of Texas at Arlington;
- real-world "Warm-Up" and "Puzzle" essay questions and Applications from Gregor Novak and Andrew Gavrin at IUPUI;
- downloadable PDF files for a Mechanics Problem-Solving Workbook from Dan Smith at South Carolina State University;
- Ranking Task Exercises edited by Tom O'Kuma at Lee College, Curtis Hieggelke at Joliet Junior College and David Maloney at IUPUI Fort Wayne;
- and PDF files for solutions to approximately 5 end-of-chapter problems per chapter.
The site grades and scores all objective questions, the results of which for each try at each module can be automatically e-mailed directly to a professor or TA if so desired. Also included is an on-line syllabus builder for professors.
