Currently, the new version of Java is supported on PCs. running Win95/98/NT.

Note to Mac users: Currently, Physlet® Problems will not run on a Macintosh Power PC since the major browsers for this platform do not support both Java 1.1 and Java to JavaScript communication.

There is an alternative for experienced Mac users, if they are adventuresome. The HotJava browser from Sun Microsystems (http://www.java.sun.com/products/OV_hotjavaProduct.html) freely available is a temporary solution that supports both Java 1.1 and JavaScript to Java communication. Make sure you are using the latest MacOS Runtime for Java (MRJ) available at http://www.apple.com/java/. Send questions to Carl@CarlAdler.org .

In addition, on PCs, the new version of Java works best with the Internet Explorer 4 web browser or higher.

If you are using a PC running Win 95/98/NT and are using Netscape, please download the latest version of Netscape.
