NOTE:

In order to take advantage of the new features in Java, the Physlets® module uses the the new release of the JDK, JDK 1.1.

Note to Mac users: Currently, Physlet® Problems will not run on a Macintosh Power PC since the major browsers for this platform do not support both Java 1.1 and Java to JavaScript communication.

There is an alternative for experienced Mac users, if they are adventsome. The HotJava browser from Sun Microsystems (http://www.java.sun.com/products/OV_hotjavaProduct.html) freely available is a temporary solution that supports both Java 1.1 and JavaScript to Java communication. Make sure you are using the latest McaOS Runtime for Java (MRJ) available at http://www.apple.com/java/. Send questions to Carl@CarlAdler.org .

  • a Pentium 90 with 16MB RAM
  • either Netscape 3.0.3 and higher or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. Internet Explorer 3.0/AOL browser does not work!
  • Your internet connection should be through your school's local area network. Using a 28.8 modem will result in dramatically increased load times.
