Problems in Internet Research

1.

Go to this site showcasing Medieval Moissac Porch Sculpture and scroll down to Prof. Alison Stone's color-coded clickable image map of the main portal of Moissac. Move around the portal and look at the details. Then pick one image and describe how the sculptor handled the figure in order to imbue it with a sense of action and energy.

2.

What innovations at Durham Cathedral were carried to church building at Caen? You will find interior views of Caen's Church of Saint-Étienne here.

3.

View the entire Bayeux Tapestry. As you move through the images, think about a medieval viewer who might be looking at the original. What characteristics of narrative or figure type would hold the viewer's attention throughout the entire 231 feet of images?
