To download graphics for use in your classroom presentation, follow these easy steps using your internet browser and MS Powerpoint, choose either IBM Compatible/PC Users or Macintosh Users:

For IBM Compatible/PC users:

  1. To select an image for use in MS Powerpoint, place the mouse over the image and RIGHT click (the right mouse button) once. Select "Save Picture As" (or "Save Image As" in Netscape Navigator). (If you would like to browse more images, click the "BACK" button on your browser to return you to the table.)
  2. A dialog box will pop-up asking you where and how you wish to save the file. In the "File Name" field, type in a name that corresponds to the image. Leave the "Save as Type" field as ".gif" and select the destination where you would like to save the image for later use. Continue to save more images by clicking the "BACK" button on your browser to bring you back to the table and select different images in the same manner.
You may wish to create a new folder where you store all of your MS Powerpoint images. If so, remember where you save your image as you will need this path for when you select the image in MS Powerpoint.
  3. Close or quit out of your browser and launch MS Powerpoint. Choose "Blank Presentation."
  4. Once you are in MS-Powerpoint, you may go to "Insert" on the menu bar, select "Picture" and then "From File."
  5. A new dialog box will pop-up and you will have to select the folder and file location where you have downloaded the images from the Companion Website. Once you select the file, a preview will display on the right. Choose the "Insert" button to place the image into your presentation.

That completes the process for downloading and implementing a graphic from a Companion Website to MS Powerpoint.

For Macintosh Users:
