RESULTS REPORTER

Once you have submitted your work through the Submit button, your answers are passed to the automatic scorer and your marks are displayed in the Results Reporter. In this section of Companion Web Site help, we will explain what each part of the Results Reporter means.

The first part of the Results Reporter summarizes how you did, beginning with the percentage of questions you answered correctly (in the example shown below, 69%). You are also shown the number of questions you answered correctly and/or incorrectly, as well as the number of questions you didn't answer. Sometimes, the Results Reporter will include information about the amount of time you took to complete the test and the amount of time recommended. Free-answer questions cannot be scored by the server and will only display as a list of how many questions you have answered out of the total number of questions.

The central part of the Results Reporter is an examination of your responses, question-by-question, which looks like this:

1 Incorrect Marriage forms are similar across social and cultural groups.
Your Answer: TRUE
The correct answer: FALSE

The correct answer is FALSE because marriage forms vary across societal and cultural groups (see page 20).

The top line shows the question number, whether you got the answer correct or incorrect, and the text of the question. Below that, the Results Reporter lists Your answer, The correct answer, and may include some additional information or instruction to explain why your answer was correct or incorrect and where to look for further information in your textbook.

At the bottom of the Results Reporter screen you will see the following form, where you can enter e-mail information for the people to whom you choose to send your marks:

  5. Due to the large volume of e-mail our server handles, Companion Web Site e-mail is batched and sent out at 30 minute intervals. Depending on when you send your results to our server for e-mailing, it may take up to 30 minutes for your results to arrive in your lecturer's e-mail. In the event that an error occurs in e-mailing the results, our server will attempt to re-send the e-mail for up to three days.
