Welcome to the Companion Website to accompany Product Design by Kevin Otto and Kristin Wood. This text comprehensively presents and discusses modern product development processes, and develops tools and techniques to effectively develop new products.

The authors emphasize the fundamental approach to design by focusing on systematic and methods-based strategies to product development. The authors believe that reverse engineering and product teardowns (dissection) offer a better paradigm for design instruction, permitting a modern learning cycle of experience, hypothesis, understanding, and new design execution. With this text, students will gain confidence through improving commercial products.
