Destinations

Muscular Dystrophies
This destination is produced by the New York Online Access to Health (NOAH) about the nine forms of muscular dystrophy. NOAH is a project that brought together the unique assets and experience of four New York partners who have worked together on a variety of projects for 26 years: The City University of New York, The Metropolitan New York Library Council, The New York Academy of Medicine and The New York Public Library.
Tetanus
This site from the CDC describes more information about the diseases called Tetanus. Tetanus enters the body through a wound. It can get in through even a tiny pinprick or scratch, but prefers deep puncture wounds or cuts, like those made by nails or knives. Tetanus germs are found everywhere, usually in soil, dust, and manure. Once they enter a wound, they can produce a poison which spreads throughout the body.
Aerobic endurance
This destination from the All Saints Healthcare System Aerobic Endurance described the fundamentals of aerobic endurance. Aerobic endurance is the body's ability to exercise whole muscle groups over an extended period of time at moderate intensity, utilizing aerobic energy.

This article explores the debate over whether a muscle fiber undergoes hypertrophy or hyperplasia when placed under extended periods of an extreme workload. This site will be of interest to anyone studying muscle physiology.
