Hypertension
This destination is produced by the American Heart Association. Hypertension , is defined in an adult as a blood pressure greater than or equal to 140 mm Hg systolic pressure or greater than or equal to 90 mm Hg diastolic pressure. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). High blood pressure directly increases the risk of coronary heart disease (which leads to heart attack) and stroke (or brain attack), especially along with other risk factors. This excellent site describes the problem and some of the ways to lower blood pressure.
Congestive Heart Failure
This destination is produced by the American Academy of Family Physicians. The term congestive heart failure means that your heart does not pump your blood as well as it should. Since your blood carries oxygen, your body may not get all of the oxygen it needs. This site explores the serious problem of heart failure.
