Write an essay on what feminist Betty Friedan referred to as the "feminine mystique." How does Friedan's assessment relate to traditional sex roles? Give some examples.

Give at least three examples of traditional stereotypes about women and three more examples about men. Why do these stereotypical notions represent such a significant barrier to equality?



3.  

Using the Michigan Task Force on Sexual Harassment as your primary guideline, define sexual harassment. Using these criteria, give at least two examples of behaviors that would constitute sexual harassment.



4.  

Specify how socialization, education, the family, language and the media, organized religion, government, and the legal system are sources of sexism. Give at least one example for each.



5.  

What is comparable worth? How does this concept relate to sex roles and social inequality. Give a few examples.
