This site contains selections from a work published by the World Bank. It includes a discussion of the causes of gender inequalities, the progress that has been made to date and some strategies for more progress in the future.

WomenWatch
This site, sponsored by the United Nations, is an excellent resource for gathering information about the status and struggles of women on a global basis. Included here you will find statistics and indicators relating to women and education, government, poverty, illiteracy, etc. Also included here are links to working groups doing follow-up for the "Beijing +5 Review" of progress made since the UN Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing, 1995), to a weekly UN radio broadcast on women's issues and to up-to-date information on upcoming events at the UN and elsewhere.

The Affirmative Action and Diversity Project
The authors of this website intend for it to serve as a resource for research on the topic of affirmative action and therefore present diverse opinions on the topics, rather than taking a singular pro or con position. It contains, among other things, on-site articles, theoretical analyses, policy documents, current legislative updates and an annotated bibliography of research and teaching materials.

Women's Rights
Sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union Freedom Network, this site includes a history of the ACLU Women's Rights Project, a history of ACLU women's rights victories, and an index of women's rights materials. Also included are several links to other women's rights resources.
