Chapter 3: Biological Molecules
NetSearch

A list of terms related to the topic of interest is a prerequisite for any information search, whether it is a traditional literature search or a search of the Internet. Appropriate terms are usually necessary because topical indexes can be very literal. This requirement could lead to a failed search, if relevant information is indexed by terms different from those used by the searcher. Below is a list of terms relevant to the material discussed in Chapter 3. This list is not exhaustive; rather, it is a starting point that can help you choose your own search terms. Search Terms:
- adenosine triphosphate
- amino acid
- carbohydrate
- cellulose
- chitin
- coenzyme
- deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)
- enzyme
- fatty acid
- lipid
- monosaccharide
- nucleic acid
- peptide
- phospholipid
- polysaccharide
- protein
- ribonucleic acid (RNA)
- steroid
- sucrose
- triglyceride
